The libraries supplied with this demo version of Extend are small subsets of the complete libraries supplied with the full packages. The complete libraries contain many more blocks than the demo libraries, as discussed below. In addition, you can add to Extend's libraries using the built-in ModL language.
Generic Library
Shipped with Extend, Extend+BPR, and Extend+Manufacturing. The full version of the Generic library contains more than 35 blocks including all the blocks in the demo Generic lib, as well as selection blocks for choosing between different values based on a threshold, report and debugging blocks, statistics and math blocks, logical operators, file i/o, and many others.
Discrete Event Library
Shipped with Extend, Extend+BPR, and Extend+Manufacturing. The full version of the Discrete Event library contains more than 30 blocks including alternate queueing blocks (LIFO, Prioritized, Matching), alternate delaying blocks (Activity Multiple, Activity Delay Attributes), selection/switching blocks, priority, attribute and value manipulation blocks, debugging and informational tools, and so forth.
Engineering Libraries
Shipped with Extend, Extend+BPR, and Extend+Manufacturing. There are four distinct libraries that make up the Engineering Libraries: Electronics, Filter, Digital, and Control Libraries. Combined, these libraries provide 48 blocks that represent functions such as amplifiers, voltage controllers, converters, switches, noise, highpass filters, etc.
Plotter Library
Shipped with Extend, Extend+BPR, and Extend+Manufacturing. The full Plotter library contains 10 different types of plotters including a histogram, multiSim plotter (for running multiple simulations), strip chart plotter, error bars plotter, and others.
BPR (Business Process Reengineering) Library
Shipped only with Extend+BPR. This demo disk contains a sampling of just a few blocks from the BPR library without their source code. The source code is included in the commercial version. Please see Chapter 3, "About Extend+BPR", of this document for more details.
Manufacturing Library
Shipped only with Extend+Manufacturing. This demo disk contains a sampling of just a few blocks from the Manufacturing library without their source code. The source code is included in the commercial version. The full Manufacturing Library is described in Chapter 4, "About Extend+Manufacturing", of this document.
Statistics Library
Shipped only with Extend+BPR and Extend+Manufacturing. Consists of three blocks which accumulate and report statistical information for particular types of block in discrete event models: activities, queues, or resources. In addition to the block label, block name, and the time the information was observed, each of the blocks report statistics that are specific to their type of block, such as utilization or average wait time.
